What's going on?

I awoke from my sleep to a pretty good rumble.  Still dark.  Erin called from the next room.  Yes, that is an earthquake Erin.  It was a 5.0 on the Richter Scale.  There have been a dozen earthquakes of at least a 5.0 in the past 12 months, and a 6.7 in April 2012. The strongest earthquake every recorded as a 9.5 in Chile in 1960, which released twice the energy of the next strongest - the Good Friday Earthquake in Alaska, which was a 9.2 in 1964.  The strongest earthquake ever recorded in Michigan was a 4.6 in 1947.  I'm thinking a 5.0 is enough for my visit.

Today was the day that I picked to go finalize some paperwork at a couple offices.  Prior to going I decided to take a run up San Cristobal Hill.  There seemed to be a lot of people going on for a Thursday morning, which should have been a tip off.  Later, on the way to the offices the traffic seemed to be light.  Lots of things are....closed.  No paperwork is going to get done today as it is a holiday - Assumption of Mary.  There is a 22 meter statue of Mary at the top of San Cristóbal Hill (Cerro San Cristóbal), so that explains the large number of people on the road up.
